Frequently Asked Questions: What do I do if a Veteran moves to another county and applies for the exemption in the new county?

Question

What do I do if a Veteran moves to another county and applies for the exemption in the new county?

Answer

After determining the veteran qualifies, the county should query the VED database for the individual.  If a record exists, the county needs to modify the “County Residency” field.  This will reassign the veteran to the new county, will prevent typos from re-entering the information and will avoid the creation of duplicate records!
